About Us

Welcome to Crooked River Primary and Infant School, a cornerstone of education in the Crooked River District of Clarendon Parish since 1937. For over eight decades, our school has been dedicated to nurturing young minds and fostering academic excellence in our rural community. Though we faced the challenge of rebuilding after a devastating fire, the unwavering support of the Church of God in Jamaica and Grand Cayman helped us emerge stronger than ever. At Crooked River Primary and Infant, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls. Our students and teachers actively engage with the community through meaningful outreach programs, visiting indigent and shut-in residents, providing care packages, and spending quality time with those who need it most. These initiatives, organized through our various clubs and societies, instill values of compassion and social responsibility in our students. We take immense pride in our artistic achievements, particularly our consistent success in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Festival of Performing Arts. Year after year, our talented students advance to the national finals in Kingston, showcasing the exceptional creativity and dedication that defines our school community. Under the leadership of Principal Sherine South and Vice Principal Simone Stewart-Farquharson, we continue to implement innovative programs designed to ensure every student reaches their full potential. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our motto: 'Only the best is good enough.' This philosophy drives everything we do, from our rigorous academic programs to our character development initiatives, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for future success while remaining deeply connected to their community roots.
